I am an advanced-year student pursuing my master’s degree at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. My journey into social work was driven by a deep-seated desire to support individuals from childhood to late adulthood who face challenges to well-being. My academic journey thus far has equipped me with a robust theoretical foundation in various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. Through my coursework and hands-on experience in healthcare and early-childhood education systems, I have developed a keen understanding of the complexities surrounding mental health and the importance of culturally-competent practice. In my practice, I will prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings freely. I believe in collaborating with clients to identify their strengths, while empowering them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence. I look forward to developing a therapeutic alliance built on trust and mutual respect, where unique experiences and perspectives are honored.
