Justin Johnson

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC, CRNP-PMH) and an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, committed to delivering straightforward, compassionate care that honors each individual’s needs and dignity.

I have extensive experience providing comprehensive psychiatric care where I specialize in conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, formulating DSM-5-TR-based diagnoses, developing individualized treatment plans, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, and ordering laboratory studies as clinically indicated. I collaborate closely with primary care providers and multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure continuity and coordination of care.

My clinical background includes delivering care across a range of settings, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide spectrum of mental health and substance use disorders.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I served for over 15 years as a registered nurse and charge nurse on psychiatric units. In these roles, I managed mental health units of varying sizes, oversaw admissions and crisis interventions, led nursing teams, administered medications, facilitated group interventions, and maintained a safe, respectful therapeutic environment.
